Dear Andrea,
Wonderful to have you back here and congratulations on your new born.
I´m sure you have some knowledge of what´s going on in Bordeaux at the moment. En primeur prices have come down by 40-50% from the ridiculously overpriced 2007's despite the fact that it in general 2008 is a superior vintage (right bank is quite good even). Still, the wines are not selling in the conventional markets, which has prompted Haut-Brion, Leoville-las-Cases and the famous right-bank Châteaux to reserve their first tranche prices until Robert Parker comes out with this scores.
My question to you is the following: what effect do you feel this will have on european premium wine in general and Piemontese reds in particular? Do Barolo/Barbaresco producers take hints from testcases like this one? _________________ Herboren op eenentwintig jarige leeftijd met een glas La Tâche 1969 in mijn hand... |
