Dear Andrea,
I am very glad to speak with you. Last year december during Christmas it was a lovely experience to tast the ''Cotta'' Barbaresco, a delicious wine.
It was the second Barbaresco in my life, now i would like to taste the others from your winery. I am curious about your Barbera d' Alba.
Hope to visit your winery and vineyards in the near future and have a chat and some wine with you in person.

Dear Coen,
thanks for the kind words, I'm happy you liked our wines, and, naturally,
you will be the welcome in my cellar whenever it will be the occasion for you.
About my Barbera, our philosophy, as it is for the Barbaresco, is very low yealds on old vines.Everything, from the vineyards to the bottling, is natural and completely under a strict respect of the terroir.
The only difference is that on this grape we use still more attention on the choice of the wood; in fact the Barbera, having less tannins and "austerity" than Nebbiolo, tends to adsorbe more the notes of the wood.
That's why we use less new wood( around 15-20% on the total) and we try, chilling the cellar, to have longer malolactical fermentations, that means more time on the lees, so more complexity and minerality.
I will wait for yours impressions about it,
Ciao, Andrea |
