What is the difference between the vintage 2004 and 2005, speaking your Barbaresco?

Dear Birger,
As I said in another answer, I think that 2004 will be without doubts one of the greatest vintage ever for the Piedmonte Region.Great Structures, refined and bold tannins, an amazing aging potential.
2005 will be another very good vintage, but, in my opinion, far more elegant and refined; there are good structures and length here too, of course, but I've noticed a great minerality and an awesome quality for the tannins.
Of course, it's too early to talk about it, but this are the first impressions.
And please note that when a vintage, like 2004 or 2005, is very structured and bold, we have always to wait some months after the bottling to be see the "direction" the wines will take.
When you will come in May you will give me yours impressions,
Ciao, Andrea |

Dear Andrea,
Thanks for your reply. I remember your Cotta 2004 from our lunch at Rosanna Bottega 4 Vini, looking forward to taste the 2005 and the Riserva
